Small changes can make a BIG impact!

Chances are, no matter how much you loved how your home looked when you first decorated it, you will probably start to tire of it and begin to fall out of love with it later down the line. And, as us humans are visual beings, we like to feel inspired by our environment so this will no doubt be bothering you. Big time.

Let’s be honest, redecorating can be a rather expensive job, not to mention messy!! So, rather than focus on the big picture decorating an entire room or the whole house, why not pay attention to some of the details instead? After all, love is in the detail isn’t it?

Fall back in love with your interior without having to re-mortgage your house with these small but very effective changes that will completely turn your home around.

THE HALLWAY

Hallways tend to be the most commonly neglected area of a home where design is concerned, which is a huge mistake since a hallway is the first area of your home your guests are greeted by!

Consider replacing your hallway side-table with a funky new alternative, add a basket or two underneath which doubles up as a great place to throw the kids shoes or to store umbrellas. Create a mixed media gallery wall by hanging some family photos in trendy mosaic and gold frames or an attention grabbing mirror, and change up your dull plain doormat for something a little more welcoming.

SEASONAL CHANGES

As the seasons change so should your home, spring and summer is all about light, fun, bright fabrics whist autumn and winter suits darker tones in heavier materials to keep the warmth in. Change your throw or cushion covers, swap your bedding over, consider replacing your rugs and any other textured elements of the room. A new pop of colour or pattern can make a striking difference with little effort required. #WinWin

 Add a Little Greenery

House plants can really change the feel of a room, as they bring the outside indoors. Plants can also last for years if you look after them, so they’re a great investment for your home. Try putting them in some statement pots with trendy patterns or why not give the macramé hanging planters a whirl for a bit of a boho look? We recently saw some of our bumblebee mugs used as plant pots and they looked rather fab

WALL ART

A little art on the walls can literally take a space from boring to beautiful in minimal time. Try adding some prints, some fun wire wording, which are bang on trend or go bigger and add some shelving and adorn with scatter plants, succulents, candles and ornaments.

CHANGE YOUR DOORKNOBS

Door knobs are easily overlooked, but they are used frequently, and so changing them up can be really significant. Go for something gold and eye catching or a geometric shape. Something that really stands out against those doors or drawers!

There are so many ways to give your home a facelift without having to spend a lot of cash. Small changes really do make a big impact, by slightly shifting the vibe of a room in a different direction, you can achieve gorgeous results! See our selection of home products here.
